  • I have a deep question: If a large old tree spontaniously fell in a forrest one day, and no one was present to witness it, did it actually make a sound? I'm sure you recognize that if you were present, the tree would make a thud, but the question is, did the thud ever happen if no one was there to witness it. This question was always hilarious to me because, being such a practical person, I could never find the point in wasting my time to find an awnser. There is, however, a reason I bring this up. It reminds me of the concept, "It doesn't matter what anybody else thinks of you. Only what you think of yourself matters." I have been battling with this one lately.

It's been over two years since I posted on here. I decided it is a practice I should invest in again since I love to write, and since I am going through a life transition. See... I'm an adult now, which is something I couldn't boast for myself in my last post. Infact, this transition is fairly recent. The tree in my life had fallen, but I missed the thud. Because I missed it, it didn't happen.

Some poetry for ya.... ( Not mine)

    For a Five - Year - Old

A snail is climbing up the window – sill

Into your room, after a night of rain.

You call me in to see and I explain

That it would be unkind to leave it there:

It might crawl to the floor; we must take care

That no one squashes it. You understand

And carry it outside, with a careful hand,

    To eat a daffodil

I see, then, that a kind of faith prevails:

Your gentleness is molded still by words

From me, who have trapped mice and shot wild birds

From me, who drowned your kittens, who betrayed

your closest relatives and who purveyed

the harshest kind of truth to many another,

But that is how things are: I am your mother,

And we are kind to snails.
